From Claire, the daughter of the artist, "I had gone for the weekend to the Eastern Townships, a very beautiful place in Quebec. It was winter and the evening began to fall. I was at the cottage and I looked outside, admiring the scenery and the tranquility; I found it so beautiful! The penumbra is one of my favorite time of the day ... So I took a picture hoping to seize the moment.
When I printed the photo, I showed it to Dad; he found it very special, for he too loved the dusk and particularly the magnificence of Quebec's nature .
I then asked him to make me a painting with this photo. Some time later, he returned with the painting. How wonderful! He had grasped the energy, the atmosphere, the time of day, the peace... everything ... looking at it, I was there, feeling it all over again.
