Louis loved the water, the sea, the rivers… As a young man, swimming was one of his passions and he was an excellent swimmer. He loved participating in swimming competitions particularly ones that tested endurance.. He was proud to keep in shape while engaging in healthy and uplifting sports. One of his favorite scenes, here he painted an old sailor, with a beautiful period costume. Sky and sea meet ... the sea is rough ... a little like the emotions of the artist.
